York and Durham


Heading south from Edinburgh on our British Rail passes towards York where we spent the night.

Up early the next morning for a walk to the railway station, taking in the City Walls on the way. And then off to Durham.

And then it was back to York, passing the flooded Ouse again on the way, before a bit more sight-seeing in York.

After another night in York we headed across to Hoole in the suburbs to the east of Chester, and a visit to Jean and Frank Hodges in Wrexham in Wales.
