The original photographs are in the National Archives of Zimbabwe in Harare.
I have one of the three sets sent to my grandmother, and I imagine the other two
were handed to her sisters. Of the other two sets mentioned, I think the Mr
Watson referred to was a relative who used to farm in Hartley (now Chegutu), but I
have no idea who Mrs Sage could have been. The captions were written on
the back of my set of photographs by my grandmother.
The notes below are in Mrs Watson's hand; on the reverse of the second note is
another hand (my Grandmother's) writing in pencil, just legible.
This article must have been published in the Southern Rhodesian press after Mrs
Watson had written to them. Clearly Frank Watson was a mason.
