Hamburg

6th April, on the train to Hamburg
The German railways are very efficient and plush, leaving the French, Belgian and Dutch far behind. In Hamburg we booked in at Frau Meyer’s pension, which is very clean and spacious, and typically German. We took a walk around the Außenalster and then retired for the night.

This morning we went to see St Michaelis which was impressive in size, but there are other more impressive examples of baroque churches!

Then on to the Rathaus where we did a lot of shopping at Kaufhalle, stocking up for what will probably be the most expensive part of our trip, Scandinavia.
